Physical Changes: Investigating the World
Fifth graders will explore the indicators to determine whether a chemical or physical change took place. They will learn how temperature changes can affect the state of matter (solid, liquid, gas) and understand the differences between physical changes (like melting or freezing) and chemical changes (like rusting or burning). Through hands on labs and classroom experiments, students gain an understanding of the basics of electricity, magnetism, and simple circuits.
